EcoVadis Silver

EcoVadis is a sustainability rating that assesses a company's sustainability. We are very proud of our Silver rating, which shows that we are in the top 15% of rated companies. With our score of 73/100, we are actually top 8% and even top 4% in our sector. This rating is our way of showing that we value people, the environment, and the economy, and that we translate our commitment into measurable action.

The EcoVadis rating of Silver requires work on a broad range of topics related to the environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. We use it as a guideline to develop our sustainability strategy and as an incentive to improve each year.

Environment

In recent years, we have made great strides in our environmental work. We have developed several significant innovations for our products by substituting recyclable and more sustainable raw materials, such as in our Axes Gate, and incorporating recycled material into our products made from our own industrial waste.

We have not just improved in terms of product innovation, we have also made a number of operational improvements. We reduced our Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions by 4% in 2024 compared to 2023 through electrification, increased use of renewable energy, and other significant infrastructure improvements. Our goal is to reduce our emissions by another 42% by 2030 compared to 2023 and to be net-zero by 2050. By using more intensive sorting and waste treatment processes, we decreased our residual waste by 62%, resulting in 92.5% of our operational waste being recycled.

Labour & human rights

The importance of people is central to Boplan's business strategy, and we are very proud that EcoVadis has recognized that our practices are in line with modern standards on working conditions. As a supplier of industrial safety equipment, the safety of our employees is also very important to us. We have been awarded a score of 74/100 for this category, placing us in the top 3% of companies with the highest score.

Ethics

At Boplan, we are committed to ethical business practices and strong corporate governance. We want to make it clear that we support anti-corruption and fair competition practices, as well as responsible information management. This has been reinforced by our participation in the UNGC. To ensure transparency and accountability, we have implemented a whistleblowing procedure and a secure data management system.

Sustainable procurement

As a brand and manufacturer of finished products, we at Boplan take responsibility both for our own operations as well as for practices throughout our supply chain. We assess each supplier on their sustainability according to our Sustainability Code of Conduct, which has now been signed by 100% of our key material suppliers. Our Sustainability Code of Conduct covers environmental, social, and governance issues in order to ensure full alignment with Boplan's ambitious commitment. We prioritize long-term partnerships with local suppliers who share our vision of responsible and sustainable operation.
