EcoVadis Silver
EcoVadis is a sustainability rating that assesses a company's sustainability performance. We are very proud of our Silver rating, which shows that we are in the top 15% of rated companies. With our score of 73/100, we are actually top 8% in general and even top 4% in our sector. It's our way of showing that we value people, the environment and the economy, and that we translate our commitment into measurable action.
The EcoVadis Silver rating requires efforts on a very wide range of topics related to the environment, labour & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. That's why we use it as a guideline for developing our sustainability strategy and as an incentive to improve each year.
Environment
In recent years, we have made great strides in our environmental performance. We have been working on some significant innovations in our products, substituting recyclable and more sustainable raw materials, such as in our Axes Gate, and incorporating recycled content in our product made from our own industrial waste.
Our improvements come not only from product innovation, but also from a range of operational improvements. We have reduced our Scope 1 and 2 CO2e emissions by 4% in 2024 compared to 2023 through electrification, increased use of renewable energy and other significant infrastructure improvements. We aim to reduce our emissions by a further 42% by 2030 compared to 2023 and to be net-zero by 2050. Through more intensive sorting and waste treatment, our residual waste decreased by 62%, resulting in 92.5% of our operational waste being recycled.
Labour & human rights
The importance of people is central to Boplan's business strategy, and we are very proud that EcoVadis has recognised that our practices are in line with modern standards of working conditions. As a supplier of industrial safety equipment, the safety of our employees is also very important to us. We have been awarded a score of 74/100 for this topic, placing us in the 3% of companies with the highest score.
Ethics
At Boplan, we are committed to ethical business practices and strong corporate governance. We want to make it clear that we support anti-corruption and fair competition practices, as well as responsible information management. This has been reinforced by our participation in the UNGC. To ensure transparency and accountability, we have implemented a whistleblowing procedure and a secure data management system.
Sustainable procurement
As a brand and as a manufacturer of finished products, Boplan takes responsibility not only for our own operations, but also for practices throughout our supply chain. We assess all suppliers on their sustainability performance, guided by our Sustainability Code of Conduct - now signed by 100% of our key material suppliers. It covers not only environmental, but also social and governance issues to fully align with Boplan's ambitious commitment. We prioritise long-term partnerships with local suppliers who share our vision of responsible and sustainable operations.
