Visitors at the PROMAT exhibition in Chicago, IL were talking about a certain football team this year, and it wasn’t the Chicago Bears! Using the slogan “Ready for Impact”, our sales team drew visitor’s attention with their outfits and mascot, a real football player that walked the show. What really stole the show however, was the company’s latest development, the new Dock Gate.
We went all out with two individual booths, each drawing large crowds. While the company’s new marketing theme was a hit, the center of attention was the impressive linup of existing and new polymer safety products. Visitor’s were able to touch and evaluate up close the superior build quality of our polymer products. It is no suprise that this year’s show resulted in a record-breaking number of leads, quote requests and orders.
Introducing the Dock Gate
The Dock Gate is the latest member in the range of polymer safety products. It is based on two heavy duty bollards, connected by two horizontal tubes, which can be lifted up or down using a soft close system. When loading a truck, the Dock Gate is opened and acts as a robust protection agains damage to door tracks (the most vulnarable part of industrial doors). When done loading, the operator closes the Dock Gate, at which time it acts as fall protection, keeping operators from falling off the dock.
The Dock Gate is the first polymer barrier to comply to OSHA standards for elevated platforms and is perfect for use in distribution centers and other industrial facilities. It will protect openings up to 10 feet and due to the hidden soft close system, it will take an impact!

The FLIP is hip!
The new FLIP Kick Plate was another attention grabber at the show due to it’s modularity and versitality. This ground level barrier is often used as an alternative to angled iron. However, what makes this product exceptional, is it’s ease and speed of installation . It’s design and construction enables the FLIP to handle medium size forklift impacts, which translates into a capacity of approximately 3,000 Joules.
