A new superhero: the GRILL Barrier!

Exactly, a superhero: the GRILL Barrier! We will be introducing this innovation to the general public at the A+A show in Düsseldorf.

Companies that own a warehouse with lots of racking shiver at the mere thought of the damage a collision with a forklift truck can cause. An entire rack full of goods can topple and smash into the warehouse floor and if worst comes to worst, this may result in injuries or infrastructural damage. And that’s not to mention the devastating impact of the domino effect that may occur if one rack after another starts to topple over. On top of the material or physical damage there are also serious economic consequences to consider due to the downtime in terms of production or logistics.

These are worries your company can absolutely do without. That is why we have developed a solution protecting employees both against collisions with forklift trucks and the toppling of (stacked) goods: the GRILL Barrier. The basis of the GRILL Barrier consists of a TB 400 (single tube) or a TB 400 Double (two tubes). Both are combined with sturdy polymer rails. The GRILL Barrier is available in 2 versions: TB 400 GRILL and TB 400 Double GRILL. Depending on forklift traffic you can opt for a single or double tube.

This is not the only bespoke aspect of the GRILL Barrier. The distance between the rails can also be adjusted according to the dimensions of the stacked goods:

• The TB 400 GRILL with centre-to-centre distance of 275mm between the rails starts from 3 rails and can be expanded up to 9 rails (max. height 3,075mm),
• The TB 400 GRILL with centre-to-centre distance of 550mm between the rails starts from 2 rails and can be expanded up to 5 rails (max. height 3,075mm),
• The TB 400 Double GRILL with centre-to-centre distance of 275mm between the rails starts from 2 rails and can be expanded up to 9 rails (max. height 3,350mm),
• The TB 400 Double GRILL with centre-to-centre distance of 550mm between the rails also starts from 2 rails and can be expanded up to 5 rails (max. height 3,350mm).

Naturally the GRILL Barrier boasts the same superior DNA as our other FLEX Impact® safety products:

The flexible material bends to absorb the impact and subsequently returns to its original shape.

Modular

The GRILL Barrier can be integrated into a broader safety construction. The modular construction of this traffic barrier lets you finish the impact protection of your company one zone at a time or it can be expanded as and when necessary.

Light

Easy to transport without compromising on impact resistance.

Strong as steel

More even: contrary to its steel counterpart, this synthetic guardrail causes no additional damage.

Maintenance-friendly

These safety products require little or no maintenance and in the rare cases where replacement or repair is necessary the cost involved is minimal.

Collisions cause no floor damage

A collision with a steel guardrail will often rip its anchor points from the floor. With a synthetic safety barrier it’s a completely different story. The energy of the impact is absorbed by the flexible polymer and subsequently spread across the entire mass of the safety construction.

Optimum visibility without painting

Boplan’s safety barriers already have a striking colour so additional painting is not necessary, not even after a collision!

Moisture, UV and chemical-resistant

Contrary to steel crash protection systems, this type of safety barrier is not subject to rust and is impervious to moisture or chemical substances. As a result, synthetic safety barriers are the logical choice for environments where hygiene is key, such as the food industry.
