The E3 Prize is safer than ever!

March is when we will hear the starting shot of the E3 Prize for the 62^nd time. Just like every year, this promises to be a terrific event with well-known names. As sponsor for the event, Boplan will ensure additional safety on the track!

A cycle race is not without danger, certainly not when the participants enter the final sprint! Just before the last kilometre, the pack swings at full speed through Berkenlaan and Acacialaan streets in Harelbeke. At that point, the risk of collisions is great. For that reason, Boplan shall install synthetic pillar protection at all critical points. That will immediately make the 2019 race the safest one!

Robust column protection

Our pillar protection consists of two models: the KP pillar barrier and the KP universal pillar barrier.

The KP pillar barrier is perfect for effective protection of pillars or girders made from H-beams. In addition to a flexible and user-friendly application, this pillar barrier also has an appealing look! Boplan won an international iF Design Award for this barrier.

Boplan developed the KP universal pillar barrier for exceptionally sized pylons, support pillars and girders. As the name says, this passe-partout pillar protection consists of universal and modular components that you can build around any type of pillar regardless of its width.

Both protection products belong to the FLEX-IMPACT family. This range of products consists of several types of robust collision protection. In addition to the classical collision protection consisting of safety barriers, we develop safety fences, protection pillars (including digital protection pillars), rack protection, corner protection, safety gates and safety plinths (including the new FLIP protection plinth, for example).

Why synthetic collision protection?

Collision protection made from synthetics has numerous advantages. Suppose someone makes a steering error with a forklift truck, then professionally installed protection products will absorb the impact seamlessly without damaging the infrastructure or the forklift truck. Due to its elastic features, the collision protection returns to its original shape after a collision. In other words, this means that polymer collision protection is almost maintenance-free and resists the most diverse circumstances and weather conditions. That means that the synthetic protection products are far ahead of their steel versions.
