Safety products in striking red for Quooker

Protect people and infrastructure against forklifts, pallet jacks and other vehicles

Quooker needed suitable safety solutions to protect the infrastructure and people at its new production and distribution center from all kinds of risks. We choose a bold red color for the protection products we installed there.

Separating different traffic flows

Challenge

Many traffic routes at Quooker's production and distribution center overlapped in several places. This resulted in unsafe conditions. For example, there was a higher risk of workplace accidents due to people crossing or leaving pathways in order to quickly get where they need to be. Consequently, Quooker started looking for ways to separate forklifts and pedestrians based on the job they are doing. To do this, they identified the following requirements: The safety solutions had to be clearly visible, low-maintenance, and made of extremely impact-resistant materials. They found the safety and protection solution that meets these requirements at Boplan.

SAFETY SOLUTIONS FOR QUOOKER

Handrails

We installed HP Plus handrails in several locations throughout the building. These handrails have an additional third horizontal rail and heavier posts, which are perfect for separating and protecting pedestrians from forklifts and pallet trucks maneuvering in high-risk areas. The rails feature a fluorescent, or glow-in-the-dark, red strip that ensures excellent visibility, even in low-light conditions.

Bollards

We installed bollards to protect critical points from collisions. Our bollards increase visibility instantly, encouraging forklift operators to pay more attention, for example, to corners and edges on doors. Even if a forklift does crash into one of our safety barriers, they will not be damaged and will return to their original shape.

Rack protectors

We installed our RACK END system to protect the vulnerable ends of stacking racks. This rack protection solution prevents forklifts from hitting the corners of stacking racks when pulling into an aisle. This is essential in a busy distribution center.

Eye-catching red

As a one-stop shop, Boplan was responsible for providing a variety of safety solutions, from rack protection to bollards and handrails. At the start of this project, we conducted a safety assessment that identified the hazards and risks at the site. We used this safety assessment to offer perfect solutions.

Quooker opted for red variants of our products because the color red is highly visible and matches their corporate identity, which is predominately red.

About Quooker

Quooker has set the standard for boiling water taps since 1987. Since then, the Dutch company has expanded internationally and now operates in 13 other countries. Besides boiling water taps, they also specialize in soap dispensers, water filters, and water softeners. The company was looking for the right safety products to protect the pedestrians and infrastructure at its workplace. Boplan's safety products met all of their expectations. In fact, Quooker is already looking forward to working with Boplan again.
